I'm Convinced that this is the Future of Cinema

I finally saw the new King Kong 3D attraction at Universal Studios yesterday and I was really impressed. As many of you might not know, the original King Kong soundstage was destroyed in a tragic fire a few years ago. From what I had read and heard of the project, I assumed- as I shouldn't have- that Terminator 3D was removed to make way for this new 3D adventure-it wasn't. Terminator is still up and running, but in need of slight update prior to the actual attraction and new King Kong adventure has risen from it's literal ashes and almost for the better.
Universal Studios has always been my favorite theme park when it comes to attractions and shows, because of it's immense budget and close ties with Hollywood directors. Universal Studios worked closely with the director of the remake of King Kong, Peter Jackson, to create this new experience for patrons to Universal Studios. I can think of nobody better for the job than Peter Jackson because of his deep passion for cinema and the original King Kong.
The ride itself was very impressive. If I had not been on the last studio tour of the day, I would have went on again, because to fully experience the soundstage you need to ride it at least two or three times. There is something going on at all times on both sides of the screen. Sometimes there's spiders, sometimes there's dinosaurs eating the tram cart behind you. King Kong might be on your right or left.
This is where I think cinema is going, but not for a while. The most obvious reason being cinemas aren't structured to compensate this nor are their any even built - to my knowledge. But with Avatar being such an innovative hit with it's motion capture technology, I think we can expect films as grandiose as Avatar with many different things happening all around us. The fictional worlds will surround and engross us.
